In the Fall of 2012, Jeff Murray was recruited by San Diego artist Wes Bruce to create a soundtrack for a project in conjunction with Lux Art Institute. He in turn recruited his incredibly talented musician/friend/muse Erik Matson to help craft/progress the songs. When the songs neared completion Brandon Zedaker was recruited to help further craft and eventually record the songs in San Diego's SDRL with engineer Brad Lee.

The project released two songs as part of the art project and performed live at Lux Art Institute in Encinitas December 2012.

San Diego's CityBeat Magazine, "Vivid storytelling, restrained-but-rich instrumentation and excellent production make these tracks a joy to play. It ís great to hear lyrics about nature in Southern California that aren't centered on the beach. You can almost feel the thorny oak leaves and smell the sage of the canyons. The only thing about this music that isn't like chaparral is that it's slow-burning—and that's a good thing."
